Senior Accountant, Technical Accounting

We’re looking for a Senior Accountant to join Snap Inc! Working in the Technical Accounting team, you will review complex accounting transactions, as well as structure, draft, and report on the accounting resolutions to these transactions. Working from our Venice, CA headquarters, you’ll collaborate with existing Accountants and colleagues throughout the company to develop a robust, technical accounting review process.
What you’ll do:
- Review and advise on technical accounting issues for appropriate GAAP treatment, including equity and stock compensation, M&A activity, and other complex accounting matters
- Analyze stock compensation and equity activity to ensure proper accounting treatment (i.e. modifications)
- Report complex accounting matters to senior leadership
- Maintain documentation to support the audit process
- Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls
- Provide documentation for tax, payroll, and reporting
What we’re looking for:
- 4+ years of accounting experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA required)
- Relevant accounting experience in a rapidly growing entrepreneurial environment, Big 4 accounting background preferred
- Working knowledge of Excel
- An understanding of GAAP, Technical Accounting, and SEC reporting experience a plus
- Ability to work under pressure, often in a deadline-driven environment
- Ability to perform several tasks concurrently
- Someone who possesses excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills, as well as superior attention to detail
- Someone who can flourish in an entrepreneurial environment
- Ability to work across and up and down a dynamic organization
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely — verbally and in writing
- Ability to keep company matters confidential
- Excellent interpersonal skills
