Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Ruby on Rails engineer who is passionate about writing clean, well-tested code, can effectively work self-sufficiently with minimal supervision, and wants to make an impact in a fast-paced and cutting-edge start-up environment.

 
In addition to having meaningful responsibilities and gaining experience in product development, you will also receive comprehensive exposure to all aspects of our business. The code and ideas that you contribute will have a tangible impact on the cumulative work of the team as a whole, and you will also have the opportunity to learn tremendously from our expert engineers (who have 8 years of Ruby experience and have been featured on the official Ruby site).

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years with Ruby on Rails
• Javascript/JQuery expert
• Strong grasp of the full stack of web technologies
• Experience integrating social APIs (Facebook, Twitter, etc)
• Experience creating robust APIs
• Worked with cloud technologies (AWS, Rackspace, etc)
• Git, Capistrano, rspec, cucumber
• Startup work experience a major plus!
• Will consider telecommuters

Desired Skills

• Familiarity with distributed systems and methodologies: Hadoop, MapReduce, Cascading, Hive, Pig
• Experience with NoSQL/graph databases: Neo4J, MongoDB, Riak, Cassandra
• Experience with cloud technologies: AWS, Rackspace
