I launched August Venture Talent to meet the unique hiring needs of startups. I am passionate about helping entrepreneurial leaders build their teams. We have facilitated close to a dozen hires at DogVacay, several with The Bouqs and UberMedia, and met special needs at TigerText and Soothe, among others.  Currently we are helping Heal, Inc. build out their team in preparation for huge growth following an upcoming Series A.

We also work with companies in significant transition – for instance, an established jewelry manufacturer in business for 30 years, taking the first steps toward building an ecommerce division. This situation requires the same entrepreneurial, daring type found in a startup.

We are building the AVT team over the next several months to expand our services on the West Coast and to serve markets in other parts of the country, with initial emphasis on the Midwest, but with an eye on NYC, Seattle and Austin, and even Toronto.

Sr. Recruiter

(full- or part-time, based in Santa Monica, San Francisco or Chicago -- may initially be home-based but will eventually move to a local WeWork office)

You have clients that you would like to serve more effectively utilizing the processes and support of an existing firm that shares your passion for exceptional service to entrepreneurial leaders. You are a full stack recruiter who can bring in new business and also execute searches end-to-end. You may be in a larger firm with limited growth opportunity, or have a desire for more flexibility or independence. Or maybe your standards are a lot higher than your coworkers.

You have at least 1 – 2 years of search firm or in-house recruiting experience within a tech startup and would like to grow your skills and experience, mentored by a seasoned recruiter.  You have outstanding written and verbal communication skills, are a social media boss, and can interact confidently with the best and the brightest professionals from mid-career through senior executive level.

Business Development Associate 

(full- or part-time, based in Santa Monica, San Francisco or Chicago -- may initially be home-based but will eventually move to a local WeWork office)

You have a proven track record of consultative selling and developing relationships within the startup ecosystem. You have a burning desire to help startups succeed. No one is more ambitious than you. Or more ethical. 

You know your way around the internet, social media, CRM, and various systems and tools that keep things productive and on schedule. You are reliable and fun. No exceptions to these last two requirements. You are impeccable when it comes to grammar, spelling and writing in general. (This is also pretty important.)
