How We Build

  • Opportunity Assessment: Discovering problems that GoGuardian should be solving. Spend time with educators, students, and parents who are invested in the future of education. Expose problems that technology can help solve, and ways GoGuardian can have a bigger impact in student learning. Look at the data to discover key experience holes and room for improvement.
  • Product Discovery: Once you’ve discovered a problem worth solving during your Opportunity Assessment, you’re teamed up with user experience designer to discover a solution. Your team will rapidly build high-fidelity prototypes to discover a solution that is valuable, usable, and feasible.
  • Build: Now that you have a high-fidelity prototype from Product Discovery, you get paired up with a Project Manager and the engineering team to start building. While they are building, you’ll be coordinating release plans and supporting materials with our sales, support, legal, and marketing teams.
  • Release: Everything is in order and everyone is ready to go. Congrats, you’ve just changed millions of students lives and made the world a better place. Now it’s time to do it all over again.

The ideal candidate

  • Talks in problem space more than they talk in solution space.
  • Always moves conversations forward.
  • Thinks of their product as a solution to a problem - not a revenue generation mechanism or competitive answer.
  • Sees responsibilities of revenue, pricing, competitive advantage as derivatives of offering users value.
  • Takes responsibility for the entire GoGuardian experience.
  • Never assumes they know an answer on behalf of their user.
  • Does not believe in the “perfect” solution.
  • Is consistently optimistic about the future of their product and the future of GoGuardian.
  • Always describes their product as a solution to a user problem.
  • Takes responsibility for engaging all stakeholders in their product’s vision.

What you need

  • 4+ years of experience with a minimum of 2+ years of product ownership/management experience
  • Proven experience championing a product vision
  • An advanced ability to identify and resolve issues, manage risk, develop detailed work plans and specifications, and delegate tasks
  • A data-driven approach to communication and problem solving

Bonus Points

  • You’ve also built products that have failed (and know why they did)
  • You tried to start your own company
  • You have a strong technical understanding
  • You possess a passion for education or EdTech
