Summary

With the highly acclaimed launch of our LGBTQ online magazine platform 'INTO', Grindr is looking for an experienced Managing Editor to work in our editorial content team. This exciting role will be responsible for following the editorial vision of Grindr/Into by editing compelling content from our staff and freelance writers and helping grow the platform even further.

Responsibilities

• Edit 15+ articles per day following INTO content guidelines
• Coordinate a steady stream of content with breaking stories and influencers in the LGBTQ space
• Work closely with the Editor in Chief to create highly engaged content each week
• Curate a robust editorial calendar and publishing cadence
• Mentor junior staff to produce compelling and relevant content
• Flexibility to cover weekend stories when needed
• Work with video and visual teams to create streaming content
• Participate in strategy and planning of the growth of INTO with EIC and other stakeholders
• Sometimes write, reports or star in content produced by and for INTO
• Help identify and engage in collaborations with partners in media and tech
• Meet with sales team to discuss and plan branded content

Requirements

• A proven track record with at least 4 years experience in journalism, preferably in a digital magazine
• Experience with metrics and marketing platforms like Apptimize, Localytics, AppBoy, Google Analytics, SiteCatalyst, and Fabric/Crashalytics
• Experience editing freelance content from our base of writers and influencers
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Extremely organized and thorough.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
