Manager, Human Resources (Talent Engagement)

Talent Engagement team is seeking a HR Manager to partner with the Los
Angeles Times Advertising Department. This position is perfect for the

while rolling up their sleeves on a day-to-day basis.
As
a Talent Engagement (HR) Manager at tronc, you will be a trusted
resource for your assigned client group(s) and the go-to partner for the
team members, managers, and leaders that you support. The right person
for this role has successfully coached business leaders, managers, and
team members, and is viewed as a credible and influential partner across
their current organization.

Responsibilities:
- Contribute
to the business strategy by helping business leaders to identify,
prioritize and build organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures
and processes - Support line managers in forecasting and planning their talent pipeline requirements in line with the business strategy
- Facilitate long-term initiatives aligned with the strategic agenda
- Adjusting HR strategy to reflect changing business needs
- Help
the business unit manager to provide employees with development
opportunities and ensure that they are able to meet current and future
performance standards - Review and benchmark internal and external environment to improve the HR policies and initiatives
- Act as a liaison between the line and HR to ensure that HR services are aligned with internal client needs
- Identify new opportunities where HR can add value to the business
- Maintain a knowledge of progressive HR practices and key trends
- Ensure a strong leadership and coaching culture permeates the organization
- Leading change across the company to help shape the company’s culture
- Partners with leaders to provide counsel during reorganizations, restructuring , and downsizing workforce efforts when necessary
- Ability to develop clear, actionable steps in support of an overall business strategy
- Ability
to use diagnostic and consultative organization design and development
skills to assist in developing and identifying the next generation of
leaders - Identifying and utilizing HR Metrics to assist management in resolving business related issues
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of human resources experience, including leadership positions involving interface with senior management
- Experience in a medium/large, national company experience is required
- Knowledge of sales incentives as well as sales rewards and recognition programs
- Track record of success in developing innovative, effective HR strategies and programs
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
- Outstanding people, resources and project management skills
- Ability to effectively handle strategic as well as day-to-day issues
- High ability to lead and to challenge the status quo
- Ability to provide leadership to remote sites
- Must be able to work on-site at the LA Times building in downtown LA
