Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis
Located in Santa Monica, CA.
Leaf Group is actively seeking a Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis to work with our Finance team. This position will play a key role in our Finance team and will be primarily responsible for corporate budgeting/forecasting, consolidation activities, and ad-hoc requests. In addition, this individual will support the quarter-end close processes including analyses to help prepare for SEC filing and earnings calls.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and own all aspects of Corporate forecast, monthly reporting, and financial planning, including payroll, operating expenses, and capital expenditures
- Maintain relationships with corporate executives on behalf of FP&A to facilitate effective information sharing and planning
- Prepare and own monthly financial and operating metrics tracking
- Analyze trends, research variances, and present financial results to senior management
- Support quarter-end reporting and analysis by compiling the financial presentation for the Board of Directors and reviewing SEC filings and earnings press releases
- Tackle ad-hoc projects, including deep-dive expense analyses and presentations
- Interact with all areas of the organization including finance, accounting, business general managers, and senior management to establish analytical frameworks and optimize business decisions
- Present analyses to the CFO and other members of senior management
- Continually look for opportunities to streamline business processes
- Lead special projects to improve analytical tools
Requirements:
- Degree in Finance or Accounting, or equivalent; MBA preferred
- Minimum 6+ years of FP&A, Operational Finance, or Corporate Finance work experience
- Demonstrated analytical and financial modeling skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to think creatively and work well independently
- Excellent Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Attention to detail
- Working knowledge of fundamental accounting principles such as accruals, capitalization, depreciation, amortization, and revenue recognition
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities
- Planning and organizing skills (specifically data and reference files)
- Experience with Essbase, Hyperion Planning, Oracle a plus
- Specific experience with a high-profile Internet media, network, or ecommerce company is preferred
