Summary
Grindr is looking for a highly passionate HR Coordinator to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of the mobile app industry, thrive in an environment of continuous change and want to help move the needle on sustaining a great culture. You’ll have a proven track record of supporting People & Talent teams and have a knack for balancing culture and compliance. This HR Coordinator reports to the Director of People & Talent and will push our P&T boundaries to help Grindr scale. Areas of responsibility include: Providing administrative support to the People and Talent team, assisting with payroll and benefits administration; new hire paperwork and on-boarding experience; employee relations; special projects; HR vendor management; and employee engagement and retention.
Responsibilities
- Assist in employee culture and workplace experience, inclusive of planning employee engagement programs, events, and corporate social responsibility initiatives – make Grindr fabulous!
- Support the People Business Partner with planning and executing leadership development, trainings, and annual performance processes
- Ensure a seamless new hire onboarding experience, liaising between talent acquisition and HR on new hire paperwork, background checks, reference checks, NDA’s, I9, W4, visas, employee manuals, benefits, new hire onboarding toolkit, etc.
- Be an HR organizational ninja -- maintain confidential employee, employee benefits, and other HR files. Consult with legal counsel, as appropriate, on personnel matters
- Have a thirst for researching and knowing the latest & greatest in HR trends and compliance, helping Grindr stay current with applicable HR regulations and partnering with senior management to develop company policies and process to ensure efficient and consistency
- Support the development of and coordinate safety and security programs for Grindr
- Assist as needed with payroll tracking and reporting
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience with an interest in an HR career path
- Minimum of 2 years of HR experience in a start-up environment preferred
- Excellent discretion, demonstrating sound judgment in dealing with confidential dialogues and information
- Strong communication, interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of HR regulations and compliance
- Thrives in a start-up/entrepreneurial environment and is adaptable to change
- Ability to establish trusted relationships with all levels of the organization, including maintaining confidentiality of employee information
- Proficient with Apple/Mac and HRIS products
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
- Deadline driven
- Positive attitude and the ability to be proactive, resourceful, and flexible
