We are looking for a Director, UI/UX to advance our rapidly evolving digital properties including FabFitFunTV and our A/R mobile app. To succeed in this role, this designer must know how to balance beauty with function to create visually appealing designs that are intuitive to users. This person must be a self-starter, comfortable working cross-functionally with our team of designers, product managers, marketers, and key business stakeholders to develop innovative and well-designed features to enhance our ecommerce business units.
What you’ll be doing:
- Produce high-quality interfaces, interactions, and prototypes with excellent attention to detail, operating quickly and efficiently
- Be highly collaborative with Product Managers to translate low fidelity wireframes, sketches, or rough requirements of an idea into well-designed user interfaces and experiences
- Actively participate in design critiques to give and receive feedback from other designers to make everyone’s work stronger
- Work with developers to quickly refine and iterate on existing features; ensure designs are properly implemented
- Communicate your work to key stakeholders at different stages of design using data whenever possible
- Conduct user research sessions to evaluate your solutions and discover new use cases
- Contribute to the overall digital product design strategy by incorporating data-driven insights and user research into product discussions
- Manage your own time, and make appropriate tradeoffs to speed up product learning while balancing priorities
What you’ll bring:
- Proven success designing and leading a team at a consumer-focused tech or media company
- A portfolio that illustrates a history of impactful designs with user-centered design thinking
- Proven success designing well-rounded user interaction and design for responsive and native applications
- Exceptional understanding of design patterns, design processes, and creative workflow
- Familiarity with of design research, and user experience design processes and methodology, as well as the ability to integrate research into work
- Fluency in Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and InVision or other prototyping software
- The ability to effectively communicate with developers and product managers
Bonus points:
- Knowledge of front-end development languages like HTML, CSS
- Experience in Agile (Pivotal), A/B testing environment, is a plus!
- Experience leading/mentoring a team of designers
