Strategy & Solutions Team (Los Angeles)

Position Overview

Reporting to our VP of Strategy and Solutions, the Director of Customer Research will be tasked with advancing research and a defined methodology to extract / deliver consumer insight across Bottlenose’s customer base.

In this multi-faceted role, you will design, implement and guide customer research, as well as produce high quality insights for customers using Bottlenose’s smart data discovery analytics technology.

Who You Are

You are inquisitive. You can’t sleep at night until questions are resolved in nice little boxes with bows on top. You seek to solve the “So What” question and relentlessly ask “Why” in order to dig deep well below the surface to understand customer sentiment, behaviors, opinions and so much more that you could write novels from insights across industry.

You are a skilled multi-tasker and enjoy wearing multiple hats. Your oratory and written communication skills are exceptional. As a detail-oriented enigma, you excel on solving problems and getting @#$% done. You are more than comfortable with technology and unbeknownst to anyone you could run circles around that data scientist sitting in the back corner with the headset on.

In terms of teamwork, you work best in a collaborative environment and are eager to contribute.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop research methodologies and business processes
  • Lead production of insights and reports for customers
  • Work with our external clients and analysts to establish clear cut objectives and deliverables
  • Manage client deliverables and present findings to clients – must be comfortable presenting to C-Suite at customer site, online, as well as at key industry events

Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years professional experience managing market, customer insights & research for leading national and global consumer facing brands
  • BA/BS Required, MBA Strongly Preferred
  • Exceptionally strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret, measure and act on data
  • Strong quantitative background alongside qualitative data storytelling across multiple data sets
  • Excellent presentation and communications skills – ability to adapt to audience in real-time regardless of level or situation (C-Suite to Large Audience)
  • Excel at relationship building, client management and leading teams
  • Proficient at prioritizing tasks, working independently and collaborating across functional areas
  • Thrive in fast-paced environment
  • Team player willing to step in and wear multiple hats to get the job done right the first time for our clients
  • Power BI user with technology background and familiar with cognitive computing
  • Social media/networks savvy
  • Understanding of Nielsen, broadcast media networks and/or other Entertainment measurement systems is a plus
