FabFitfun is currently seeking a Data Engineer to join our thriving LA headquarters. We are looking for extremely talented and passionate engineers who love solving problems. You must be comfortable with both the backend and the application layer--we are full-stack developers and you will need to own your features end-to-end. If you write maintainable code that scales, we'll be good friends.

 

 

What You'll Do:
  • Architect, build, test and refine Big Data platform for data analytics, business intelligence (BI), and reporting
  • Create and work on our streaming API, data pipeline, ETL systems, and real-time data
  • Come up with solutions for scaling data infrastructure
  • Help all functions of the company have access to our data

 

What You'll Bring:

  • Self-starter mindset, able to work under minimal direction
  • Expert at creating RESTful web services and applications
  • Able to manage both relational and columnar databases
  • Skillful at aggregating multiple data sources and creating complex SQL queries
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, Linux systems, and design patterns
  • Experience building distributed, clustered, high-throughput applications
  • Background in database tuning and performance
  • Proficient with creating and measuring results of tests and experiments
  • You are intellectually curious about everything, and technology-wise, you keep up with the latest trends
  • 2+ years experience developing ETL jobs
  • 5+ years of total software engineering experience
  • BS or better in computer science or related technical discipline
