OpenX Technologies, Inc. is looking for a Corporate Controller to serve as its chief accounting officer. The ideal candidate will be a highly engaged leader with eight to twelve years of accounting and finance experience, ideally beginning in accounting and audit, followed by internal experience with responsibility for managing financial operations, implementing controls, and gathering and reporting financial information to senior management and external stakeholders at a rapidly growing private or public company.

Reporting to the Chief Finanical Officer as a key member of the Financial team, the Controller will lead all day-to-day activities and supervise approximately ten staff members with functional responsibility over general ledger accounting, treasury, billing systems, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and financial reporting. This position will ensure that the company has the systems and procedures in place to support accurate accounting records and financial reports. In addition, the Controller will work closely with the other functions within the Financial Navigation team, including the FP&A team on annual budgeting and monthly forecasting and the Business Intelligence team on financial data maintenance, reporting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements
  • Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual internal and external U.S. GAAP financial statements
  • Maintain internal controls and safeguards for receipt of revenue and expenditure of costs
  • Supervise the coordination of all audit activity with outside auditors
  • Assist Finance in the annual budgeting and planning process
  • Manage organizational cash management and cash flow forecasting
  • Identify and manage process improvements and enhancements
  • Recruit new team members to fill open spots, leverage strengths of the current accounting team members, help to clarify roles and responsibilities and develop the team to reach optimal individual and organizational goals
  • Provide leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the organization; create and promote a positive and supportive work environment

Required Qualifications

  • 8-12 years relevant experience, Big Four accounting firm experience required
  • 4-8 years experience managing a full-service accounting team
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or economics/accounting
  • CPA required
  • Full and complete understanding of financial statements and US GAAP
  • Experience with financial reporting, budgeting and business analysis
  • Familiarity with SEC reporting a plus

  • Financial modeling capabilities with a high proficiency in Excel
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating key data, including presentations to senior management, board or other outside partners
