You’ll Report To: Manager, Content Channels
A typical day as a Business Analyst might include:
- Informing editorial teams by identifying areas of opportunity by serving as an expert from a data/analytics perspective
- Supporting SEO and Product teams by reporting on the results of site releases and ongoing multi-variate testing
- Constructing and maintaining daily, weekly, and monthly dashboards to track a network of sites from multiple dimensions and metrics
- Producing ad hoc analyses that will be presented to execs and external parties
- Partnering with analytics and BI to establish web tracking metrics as site features, new formats, and business needs evolve
You’ll be successful if you have endless thirst for answers, always looking for correlations, and ways to improve what is already great.
What You Have:
- BA/BS from a top 4-year program, degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Business or other quantitative field preferred or equivalent work experience
- 4+ years of experience with reporting and data analysis (Excel, SQL, Tableau)
- 2+ years of experience with web analytics and/or monetization tools (Google Analytics, Adsense, AdX, DFP)
- Advanced Excel skills
- Understanding of database structure and ability to create own SQL queries
- Experience with A/B testing and optimization tools (e.g. Optimizely) a plus
- Experience using data to develop business insights and recommendations
- Experience in e-commerce, digital marketing, or website operations a plus
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail
- Be a highly motivated self-starter. Candidate must be comfortable working independently with minimal guidance
- Good communication skills with the ability to present quantitative results and turn insights into actionable recommendations
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to confidently handle multiple projects simultaneously and under tight deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Willingness to learn and a passion to be an expert in your field
