ROLE SUMMARY: We’re looking for a Brand Manager to join the Product Marketing & Strategy Team at Dollar Shave Club. This innovative, self-starter will help deliver business growth in a multitude of ways. This passionate brand marketer will be responsible for the launch, analysis and optimization of innovative physical product launches across a variety of categories. This person will be an extremely collaborative, analytical, and organized leader, capable of prioritizing projects, establishing clear vision and rallying cross-functional teammates to achieve results.


RESPONSIBILITIES:             Innovation:

  • Partner with Consumer Insights team to develop a deep understanding of the consumer mindset, behavior & barriers as it relates to key categories identified in the innovation roadmap
  • Collaborate with x-functional (CI & Prod Dev) teams to identify, develop and launch physical products: 
    • Develop a product concept - including positioning, pricing, claims, attributes
    • Build initial business case that includes clear revenue targets/market share goals and present recommendations to senior management
    • Collaborate with PMO to create and manage detailed project timelines to ensure on-time delivery of all projects
    • Lead a cross functional team (PD, CI, Ops, PMO, Regulatory, Legal, Finance, Packaging, Creative, Design) during the of product launch process
    • Brief & approve creative team on product naming, packaging, & visual ID
    • Build launch toolkit for all new product launches including (packaging photography/visual assets, key claims & positioning statements, product attributes, training/fact sheets, pricing guidance, & standard launch assets as determined by the customer growth & monetization teams
Category Management:
  • Develop deep understanding of the competitive environment and category landscapes in each category. This includes, but is not limited to pulling and analyzing data from Nielsen/IRI
  • Understand product trial & repeat trends by category
  • Understand consumer satisfaction, key drivers & perceptions with current product offering
  • Inform innovation roadmap by providing recommendations for improvement across relevant categories
  • Report & deliver recommendations to customer acquisition & strategy teams regularly to fuel demand strategy & roadmap prioritization

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree, MBA preferred
  • 3+ years of experience working in a marketing role in an e-commerce or CPG company, Experience within a DTC company a plus
  • Analytical: Strong experience leveraging complex sets of data and consumer research to build a story for upper management
    • Experience using AC Nielsen or IRI required
  • Creativity: Strong intellectual curiosity, ability to “think out of the box”, experience writing creative briefs and working with creative agencies
  • Project Management: Alongside PMO, ability to lead projects with multiple stakeholders, complex inputs, and time sensitive deadlines
  • Thought Leadership & Communication skills: Strong written/verbal skills with management, marketing team, x-functional, agencies, etc.
  • Time management: Effectively manage workload by prioritizing and managing multiple assignments
  • Team Player: Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Flexibility: Ability to thrive in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with constant change and learning on the fly
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs: Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
