The Role:

Ticketmaster is looking for a Senior Android Engineer who can own our entire Android platform which supports many hundreds of thousands of monthly active users!


 You’ll use the latest open source mobile technologies to build our Android mobile apps which delight sports fans and music lovers around the world. You’ll design responsive apps, work on cutting edge features and launch industry changing innovations using BLE. The right candidate will participate in architecture and design reviews, work closely with product & other non-technical staff, write test plans/cases, create automated tests and work with engineers and architects to create our next generation mobile platform.

 Requirements / Qualifications:

  • ·         2+ years experience as a Principal, Lead or Senior Engineer, or deep understanding of and experience with development on Android platforms
  • ·         Must have successfully launched mobile products to a production and have experience with high visibility applications with a broad user base
  • ·         5+ years professional hands on software development experience, specifically utilizing Android, Java and open source technologies
  • ·         Experience with high-volume transactional systems, public facing APIs, search infrastructure and integrating with APIs
  • ·         Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field
  • ·         Must possess a sound understanding of service-oriented architecture (SOA) and asynchronous message-based concepts
  • ·         Build pipeline and automated testing expertise for Android development a must
  • ·         In-depth knowledge of object-oriented methodologies, UML design techniques, event driven architectures, and other design patterns
  • ·         Familiarity with open-source libraries/frameworks, Eg: Spring, Guava, Apache HTTP, etc.
  • ·         Experience leading/mentoring other software engineers; leading design reviews and architecture discussions
  • ·         Exemplary communication skills (both written and oral), with experience producing technical and design documentation of complex processes.
  • ·         Strong software development process background using Agile methodologies
  • ·         Ability to troubleshoot, performance tune and understand Java and Android memory utilization in code produced
  • ·         Experience with an open source development environment using tools such as Maven / Gradle, Jenkins and Git is a plus
