5 tech events you should attend this week

Summer in Los Angeles doesn't just mean a bit of warm weather. This week features a bevy of tech-related events to check out.

LA Fintech Mix Mingle Network, June 20 at 6 p.m.

The ever-evolving financial tech industry demands that anyone involved stay as up-to-date as humanly possible. Thankfully, there are plenty of opportunities to do so. Head down to Santa Monica on Monday night to mix and mingle with other fintech professionals for a night of networking, gossip and adult beverages.

Sponsored by Google, SiliconBeach.LA comes to Downtown Los Angeles this week, and the swanky new Mrs. Fish will play host. There will be plenty of opportunity to network with other young professionals in the community.

Startups in the Sky!June 22 at 6 p.m.

Startups in the Sky returns to Downtown Los Angeles (did it ever really leave?) on Wednesday as the tech community gathers to discuss and promote the booming startup scene in Downtown Los Angeles. Admission is free, just remember to RSVP!

Get the Most Out of UX Mentorships w/ Jaime LevyJune 23 at 7 p.m.

Head down to Opodz on Thursday to hear author of UX Strategy and USC Professor Jaime Levy will speak about the evolution of UX over recent years, specifically, the importance of designers having a UX apprenticeship. The event also presents the opportunity to network with fellow UX professionals and learn about UX trends today.

Celebrate the coming weekend with a tech-themed happy hour in Santa Monica. Hosted by Expert Dojo, the event will feature an open bar, live music and some of the best networking in LA (plus it's on a Friday!).
